JON MCLEMORE was born in Florence, AL in 1977 to a banjo pickin' preacher.
Raised on the rich harmonies of bluegrass and all vocal church music, Jon quickly discovered that he had ears.
At 15, he backed out on a Sadie Hawkins date at the last minute (after she'd already bought matching shirts)
to do his his first paying gig with an a cappella group. Thus began a downward spiral of neglect for all things
unrelated to performing and recording a cappella music. Somehow, between rehearsals, Jon found time to finish high school
at Madison Central in Madison, MS in 1995. Shortly thereafter, he joined up with the Acappella Co. in Paris, TN
and spent the better part of a 6 month internship touring across the U.S. In 1997, Jon sang lead and second tenor
with Minneapolis a cappella powerhouse Go Fish, where his original tune “New Heart” reached no. 4 on CCM radio's
Inspirational Chart.
It was not until 1999, however, that Jon got his big break. He auditioned with Four Shadow and got the job on the spot!
It was during this time that Jon first saw Glacier National Park, Mt. Rushmore, Carhenge, and his wife Mandy.
Jon's work as a solo artist, as well as his work with Four Shadow and the McLemore Brothers has earned him numerous
CARA awards and nominations in a variety of categories. He has graciously served as adjudicator and clinician
at the industry's top conferences. While not making music, he has ridden over 50k miles on his BMW motorcycle,
earned a Private Pilot's License, lived in Alaska, and birthed 5 kids (well, he had a small part in it anyway).
He plans to graduate from college in 2008 with a B.S. in Ministry, so long as it does not conflict with the tour. |
